"Antoshka" Blessed Orphan Joy - Waiting Children

Ukraine has over 30,000 orphans living in orphanages and waiting for loving families. Adoption is probably one of the most difficult and stressful event that any family will experience in their lives.

Each family adopting deserves an ethical agency and ethical adoption facilitator.  Our agencies and facilitators are recommended by families that have used them for their adoptions. We have been asked by families to provide them help with an ethical process of adoption. Life2orphans has advocated and provided support for families with their adoptions since 1998.

We feel all children deserve a loving family. Please contact our Adoption Coordinator - Elaina - elaina.lawrence@yahoo.com for information and assistance with the “Antoshka” Blessed Orphan Joy Waiting Children or any other questions.

Ukraine Adoption Requirements:

In addition to the USCIS eligibility requirements for prospective adoptive parent(s), Ukraine has the following adoption eligibility requirements.

Age Requirements:

  • As of late 2011, there is no upper age limit for parents.
  • At least one parent must be a minimum of 15 years older than the child.

Marriage Requirements: Foreign citizens must be married in order to adopt from Ukraine.

  • Age of Adoptive Child: Ukrainian law requires orphans to be at least five years old before they are eligible for intercountry adoption.  The law exempts children with certain special needs, relative adoptions, and sibling adoptions.
  • Sibling Adoptions: If all siblings are eligible for intercountry adoption, they normally cannot be separated by adoption.  A separation by adoption can be approved in some cases, but this is usually a complicated and lengthy process.
  • Special Needs or Medical Conditions:  There are specific health problems that, when present, allow orphans under five years of age, as well as those who have not been on the central registry for one year, to be adopted.
  • No criminal history.
  • No stated family restrictions.
  • No diagnosed history of mental health conditions or certain infectious diseases.
