Weave yarn through the dc stitches at one end of tube, pull ends of yarn to close off tube and knot tightly.
Turn inside out and roll open end up to form cuff.
Pom-pom for top - wrap yarn around three fingers until plump, cut yarn and tie off pom-pom in the middle with another piece of yarn, leaving ends several inches long. Pull these ends through the top of the hat and knot on the underside.

Row 3: Knit 7 st, k 2 tog, repeat to end of round.
Row 5: Knit 6, k 2 tog, repeat to end of round.
