From Tony and Sveta after an assessment visit in August 2004:

"Located within Kharkiv, this Orphanage was set far into a residential area. From the outside, the building appeared to be 30-50 years old and in slight disrepair. Under closer examination I could see that this building was in serious need of work. Although the foundation seemed solid, much of the interior looked as if it hadn’t been touched since the building was originally built. Although the staff keep the facility clean, cracked ceilings and walls are hard to cover up. In addition, it appears that their small indoor pool (used for therapy) is nonfunctional because of its antiquated plumbing system. The positive things about this place are that it appears to be well managed and the decently staffed. Toys and things to play with were not in short supply."
