New Special Project:
Much Needed Furniture

$2,960.17 raised this year, as of December 31, 2006!

Goal: $1500 (Phase I)

The next most pressing need is for furniture. They have many old pieces that desperately need replaced, like the crib shown.

Items needed: 10 tables for 6 kids each (like the one above) - about $10 each
60 cribs - about $ 47 each
20 tables for swaddle - about $ 36 each

Since these needs total over $4500, we will do the furniture in 3 Phases - $1500 each.

Special Project:
Playground Equipment

Goal: $1600

As many of you may remember, the playground at Kremenchuk is in sad shape. Dr. Lydia’s dream is to have it refurbished and to add a few pieces of new equipment. Local carpenters and craftsmen have been contacted to do the job. This will save us hundreds of dollars on the price and in shipping. The season is short for outdoor play in Ukraine. So, we are trying to raise the money for Phase I in the next 30 days so the work can be completed this summer.

Phase I will cover repairing the picnic table with benches, the swings, the climbing pyramid, the small houses, the automobile, the boat, the aircraft, and the rocket. Phase II will add balance beams, bridge, fish, strike board, and chair with table.

UPDATE: The needed funds have been raised and will be wired out soon! Check back for pictures of the new and improved playground! Thanks to all that donated!
